INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER
Marek Weidlich is a multidisciplinary designer based in Copenhagen, working at the intersection of transport, product, and marine design. With a formal background in industrial design and a specialization in automotive design, he combines precision, proportion, and functional logic with Scandinavian simplicity and a strong sense of form. His approach is rooted in clarity, technical understanding, and the ability to transform complex ideas into well-structured, high-performing design solutions. Often described as a “Swiss Army Man” of the design process, Marek bridges concept development, 3D modeling, visualization, animation, and problem-solving — allowing him to guide projects from early ideation through to production-ready output with exceptional continuity and depth.
EXPERIENCE
Marek’s career spans leading European design studios and mobility brands. He gained international experience through internships at Studio F. A. Porsche in Austria and Pininfarina Extra in Italy. He developed his diploma thesis with ŠKODA Auto and later joined their exterior design team. Additional collaborations with Biomega and Manyone allowed him to explore new frameworks in urban mobility, lightweight structures, and future-forward product concepts. Since 2021, he has served as Lead Designer at RAND Boats. Between 2021 and 2025, he held the strategic responsibility of transferring automotive logic, workflows, and design discipline into the marine environment - implementing new approaches to proportions, ergonomics, brand DNA, and user clarity. This transformation helped modernize RAND’s entire design language and contributed to several award-winning vessels recognized with the German Design Award, European Powerboat of the Year, and Best of Boats Award. Marek combines creative vision with technical fluency, backed by nearly a decade of experience in Rhino3D and more than five years in Blender3D. His work integrates advanced 3D workflows, manufacturing data, material understanding, and digital storytelling, enabling decision-making grounded in both creativity and engineering logic.
Studio & Beyond
Beyond his work within the marine industry, Marek runs an independent design studio supporting companies with concept development, CAD modeling, visualization, animation, and production-ready documentation. His approach ensures that clients can accelerate their development cycles, strengthen communication, and deliver clearer and more compelling products. The studio offers end-to-end support - from first sketches and design logic to technical CAD, manufacturing packages, digital twins, and high-end marketing visuals. This holistic workflow allows clients to move seamlessly from strategy to execution without losing intent, detail, or design integrity along the way. Outside commercial work, Marek explores materials and form through small-scale furniture, lighting, and experimental objects combining wood, metal, and 3D-printed components. This hands-on practice supports his continuous curiosity, material sensitivity, and cross-disciplinary thinking.
